TLC: Talk, Listen, Change is a relationships charity in Greater Manchester.
Originally formed in 1981, in 2016 it began disaffiliating from a national

In 2017 TLC won two awards at the North West Charity Awards.
It has doubled in size in just three years and continues to expand its services across Greater Manchester, providing local people and communities with the support they need. Services provided include:
· Adult Counselling

· Family Mediation
· Psychosexual Therapy
· Parenting Courses
· Domestic Abuse ‘Bridging to Change’ Services with integrated victim and children’s support
· Community volunteering programmes including working with the Greater Manchester Police STRIVE project and Trafford’s Talk Shop and Children’s Centres.
TLC takes a fully integrated, creative and innovative approach to the services it provides.
In 2016/17 an average of over 13,500 sessions of support were offered, with 96% of people saying they would use the service again and a further 94% saying they would recommend TLC.
Some Important Areas of Work
Manchester Arena Bomb
Following the Manchester Arena Bomb on May 16th 2017, TLC immediately offered free counselling to anyone affected by the attacks. The message was put out to people on social media and reached over 1 million people! They were featured in over 10 publications online, were listed as a “Manchester Act of Random Kindness” and delivered over 200 sessions of support for those affected. This included supporting children who were at the concert, teachers who didn't know how to speak to their classes about what had happened and emergency service workers.
TLC supports children who have experienced domestic abuse. This is carried out through group activities, 1-2-1 support and counselling. The impact of this has included enabling children to progress into full-time school attendance, increase their grades and speak about their feelings.
They deliver a service to adults affected by cancer across Greater Manchester and have seen an increase in referrals, engagement and demand of this service. TLC now places Macmillan trained counsellors directly in hospitals where they are needed.
TLC is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and is one of 14 RESPECT accredited UK sites.
